BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – June 29, 2012 – Two employees of Big Communications were recently recognized by the Birmingham advertising community. Senior Account Executives Libby Romano and Satina Richardson were honored at the inaugural Ten Awards, hosted by the Birmingham chapter of the American Advertising Federation (AAF) Thursday night at Vulcan Park & Museum. The Ten Awards recognize the often-unsung heroes who excel on the sales and service side of the advertising industry.
Romano was honored with the Account Service Award, which recognizes her smart client management skills and ability to seamlessly move projects forward to completion. Under Libby’s watch, Big has launched several notable campaigns including the National ADDY winning Go Build Alabama initiative, which has gained national attention. Some of Libby’s other notable clients include University of Montevallo, Jacksonville State University and the Mobile Regional Airport.
Richardson was honored with the Ann Halpern Service Award. The award has been given since 1996 to recognize individuals for exceptional social responsibility in the community and exceptional service to AAF Birmingham. Richardson was the first African American president of AAF Birmingham. She has worked to promote greater collaboration between local agencies and has helped establish AAF as a thought leader in advertising. Richardson’s contributions to AAF include planning the first Ad Expo and serving on the Diversity and Student Education Committees.
