During tonight’s opening ceremonies for the 2012 Olympic Games, Birmingham area residents will get their first glimpse at a new campaign for the Birmingham Public Library featuring gold medalist Vonetta Flowers. The campaign, produced by Big, is called “Champions for Learning” and will help raise money for area libraries.
“As an agency, we seek opportunities that allow us to give back to Birmingham using the creative abilities of our team,” said John Montgomery, Big Communications president.
Vonetta, who earned her gold medal in bobsledding, is a Birmingham native who attributes much of her success to time spent in the Birmingham library during her youth. Tremendous thanks to Vonetta for volunteering her voice and time to this campaign, and to Six Foot Five Productions and local media who donated their time and talent to help us bring this campaign to life. Coverage of the opening ceremonies begins locally at 6:30 p.m. on Alabama’s 13. Take a sneak peek at the commercial in the video below.
