BIG Spotlight
I wanted to take a moment to brag a little bit about one of BIG’s own, Satina Richardson. Satina is BIG’s Senior Account Exec and in 2008 she was elected chair of the American Advertising Federation Birmingham’s Student Education Committee.
Due to Satina and her committee’ s hard work, AAF Birmingham won 1st place in Student Education at the 7th District Addy Awards (Advertising industry’s largest competition) beating out clubs in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Louisiana and Tennessee.
Under Satina’s leadership, the committee planned an event series, Graduate’s Guide to the Cheese, including a panel discussion with industry professionals, a resume and portfolio review and an agency walking tour. The goal was to prepare future graduates for the real world through interaction with communications professionals.
The series (a BIG success I must say) educated students from universities all over and even some individuals who were non-students looking to get into the industry. Being a member of the committee, I have to say that Satina deserves all the recognition for the success of the series.
We are lucky to have Satina in our world here at BIG. Job well done!
