Know it Forward
Sexual assault is a topic embraced nationally by Verizon Wireless as a corporate philanthropic effort. The challenge: How to you communicate such a serious topic in a way that is conversational and captures attention? Big’s solution was a two-year campaign called Know It Forward. Year one armed more than 100,000 college students with the facts about sexual assault and educated about risk reduction through social media. Year two leveraged Verizon’s NFL partnership and used Atlanta Falcon and former University of Alabama quarterback John Parker Wilson. His involvement helped Verizon introduce the subject to a broader audience in a way that felt familiar and approachable. Smart media partnerships, strong media relations and community involvement resulted in expansive message dissemination statewide. Verizon Wireless was successfully positioned as the leader in increasing awareness about sexual assault.
