Last week, the eyes of the sports (and marketing) world were watching Boston unveil its bid video for the 2024 Olympic Games.
Meanwhile, Birmingham was on the verge of pulling off a coup.
“How in the world can the country’s 42nd-biggest Designated Market Area possibly pull off a global event?” some folks asked.
The answer: By outworking everyone else.
As a result, Birmingham has been chosen as the host city for the 2021 World Games, which will be only the second time in the event’s 40 years that the United States has played host to the international competition.
Here at Big, we were fortunate to be involved in Birmingham’s World Games bid early on.
We came up with the logo and the design, we put together the official pitch video, and we helped the Birmingham coalition put together a presentation that ultimately sealed the deal.
