The answer: They’re both part of Jeremy’s first film, “Dead Saturday,” which premieres at the 2015 Sidewalk Film Festival.

That’s right, a member of the Big team has made a film with an Academy Award nominee.

Burgess’ “Dead Saturday” makes its Birmingham debut at Sidewalk on Saturday, August 29. He co-wrote and produced the short, which he describes a “religious thriller.”

The premise: A group of teenagers gathers at a church the day before Easter. The leader is convinced he’s found a way to release his inner demons without going against the will of God: Dead Saturday, the time between Good Friday and Easter Sunday. Eric Roberts’ character plays their pastor.
