Last night was a big night for Alabama musicians. Particularly, our friends Alabama Shakes.

Not only did they dominate the 2016 Grammys with wins for Best Alternative Music Album, Best Rock Song, and Best Rock Performance, they also killed it with an unforgettable live performance that left the entire room mesmerized.

These righteous rockers from Athens, AL stole our hearts a while back, so we decided to celebrate them the only way we know how – with a ‘Make Your Own Alabama Milk Shakes’ party. Inspired by the sounds and soul of their sophomore album Sound & Color, we decided to take a break from our Mondays and whip up these classic drinks with a tasty twist.

And these shakes – they don’t disappoint. Try ‘em for yourself and let us know what you think.

“The Buffalo Rock ’N Roll”
Celebrating one Alabama original with another

3 scoops vanilla ice cream
2 oz whole milk
1/2 can Buffalo Rock Ginger Ale
1 shot Four Roses Bourbon*
Top with whipped cream and finely shaved dark chocolate

“The Sound & Color”
Because a title track as explosive as this deserves a milkshake that does the same

3 scoops strawberry ice cream
2 oz whole milk
Handful of frozen strawberries
1 shot Tito’s Handmade Vodka*
Top with a hearty helping of whipped cream and Pop Rocks

“The Don’t Wanna Fight”
You know what you like, what I like, why can’t we both be right?

3 scoops chocolate ice cream
2 oz whole milk
1 shot The Kraken Black Spiced Rum*
Top with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and whatever the hell you want. Anything goes with this one, y’all.

*Alcohol optional.

P.S. We’d like to give an extra special shoutout to the fine folks at Seasick Records for helping us source the coolest Grammys Pick ‘Em prize pack for our party. Celebrate Alabama Shakes’ success by grabbing one for yourself.
