We didn’t know at the time, of course. We had no way of knowing.

But everyone at the Boutwell Auditorium the night of Wednesday, December 1, 1993 saw something incredibly special: Nirvana, live, in what would be one of their final U.S. tour dates.

Our president, John Montgomery, was in attendance. So were thousands of other locals, eagerly gathered on a cold night to see one of the biggest and most influential bands in the world.

Today marks the 24th anniversary of that legendary show, and we here at Big are celebrating the occasion with a commemorative playlist.

We dug up the setlist from that show and then Frankenstein’d a replica of that set using live versions of every track. The result is a pretty cool facsimile of that special night here in the Magic City.

Put on your favorite flannel, turn the lights down low, press play, and let your imagine take you back in time a quarter-century with one of the most legendary bands of all time.
