While this year has proven full of countless challenges, we’ve continued to deliver for our more than 60 clients while working from home. But there’s one account that’s earning some extra love and national recognition from one of the most prestigious communications and PR media sources in the country.

PRNEWS announced last week that Big is a Platinum PR Awards winner for our February launch of Ed Farm, an Apple-backed initiative designed to increase educational equity, improve learning outcomes through technology, and prepare the future workforce. Not only did Big create the Ed Farm brand, we also planned and executed a launch event (pre-COVID, of course) that earned national media attention and lit up the Birmingham community.

While we’re excited for the additional exposure for Ed Farm, we’re also thrilled to be named a Community Relations winner, with A-list agencies and companies among the finalists, including:

  • Beech-Nut Advocacy: Real Moms, Real Food and Real Community Connections
  • BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee: BlueCross Healthy Places
  • Hanna Lee Communications: Giving Back to the Community Through an Instagram-Based Bartender Scholarship
  • Megaworld Foundation, Inc.: One with the Aetas
  • Sauce for a Cause: Bushel Boy Farms Deepens Impact in the Twin Cities

Finalists and winners across all 50 categories were announced at The PRNEWS’ Platinum PR Awards Virtual Gala on Tuesday, Oct. 27.

We are happy to have been honored among such an accomplished field. Our greatest accomplishment, however, is from the client who — after the Feb. 27 event — wrote to Big saying, “Most (correction: all) nonprofits would kill to hit the ground running with such a solid brand and cohesive student/stakeholder/media experience.”

That’s the best kind of praise we can get — especially when it’s from a client that’s doing such amazing work in our community.
