BIRMINGHAM (March 3, 2022) – Big’s integrated We Teach Alabama campaign – implemented on behalf of the Alabama State Department of Education (ALSDE) with a focus on the recruitment of a new generation of teachers statewide – recently won five Gold Awards and two Silver Awards at the 37th Annual Educational Advertising Awards, the nation’s largest and most respected awards for education marketing.

A multi-year campaign, We Teach Alabama was first launched in Fall 2020 to battle increasing teacher shortages across the state and to raise awareness of teacher incentives created through the passage of the TEAMS Act – legislation designed to fill every Alabama school with credentialed math and science teachers in grades 6-12. The campaign consists of owned, earned and paid tactics and to date has resulted in more than 500 new teachers answering the call.

With over 2,000 award entries from over one-thousand colleges, universities and secondary schools across the U.S., in addition to foreign countries, We Teach Alabama stood out among the competition in website design, social media content, special events and more.
