Meet The Interns: Fall 2017

Content by Jeremy Burgess

Interns! We love them. And, honestly, we need them.

They make our work lives much easier, and honestly, they make us better at our jobs by virtue of passing along the knowledge we apply to our work every day.

And you know what? They don’t get enough credit, we think.

So we’re taking some time to shout out our two fall interns who’ve already made an impact here at Big Communications. Learn more about this dynamic duo, and if you run into them out in the wild, maybe ask if you can borrow their notes, yeah?

What’s your favorite place in Birmingham?
Railroad Park

What’s one fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
I studied in Spain this past summer for my minor in Spanish.

If you could have one super power, what would it be?
Super strength.

Do you have any hidden talents or weird quirks?
I can shoot under par in disc golf.

What do you love most about interning with Big?
I love the creative and laid-back vibe in the office. I also love that it’s a dog-friendly office. Boo is the man!

What’s the biggest takeaway you’ve learned from your time at Big so far?
Tweeting is hard work! On a serious note, I have seen how much hard work and time goes into managing a big client like Valvoline.

What’s your favorite place in Birmingham?
I love any place that I can look out over the city and eat Taco Bell.

What’s one fun fact about you that most people don’t know?
My football team was on Monday Night Football after a lineman sent our coach flying on a chest bump. We reached the top 10 trending stories for Bleacher Report as well.

If you could have one super power, what would it be?
The ability to fly.

Do you have any hidden talents or weird quirks?
I have the ability to shake/vibrate my eyes.

What do you love most about interning with Big?
I love being able to explore the different departments within Big to see everything that goes on behind the scenes. It has really given me a lot of insight into how a business operates and has shown me how important it is to be a part of a team.

What’s the biggest takeaway you’ve learned from your time at Big so far?
Being involved with Big has shown me that I do not want to work in-house because it would be too boring and repetitive for me. I like the planned chaos that forces one to be on their toes at all times and tests one’s ability to adapt in different situations.
